Poem: Combing The Beach In Winter

Subtitled: Beachglass Jewelry Set with Matching Poem

Bits of colored glass
Like fragments from our past
Lay scattered on the sand
Softly glistening in the sun hit Refresh to display this!

Oh, catch them, catch them fast
These bits of colored glass
Like fragments of our past
And gather them one by one

String them like so many memories
With edges smoothed by time
Yet retaining the soft translucency
Of colorful days gone by

Don’t lose the wonders and mysteries
But string them like so many memories
With edges smoothed by time
Faded like a winter sky

The greens and yellows and blues
Are the gardens I grew with you
While our love was growing
While our flowers were blooming

.
.
.
These bits of colored glass
Are the greens and yellows and blues
Of the gardens I grew with you
In our springtime of life renewing

Like crystals springing from granite
Our days became bright and clear
Our nights became full of stars
On the date we found each other hit Refresh to display this!

Oh catch them, catch them fast
These crystals springing from granite
These days still bright and clear
While we are still together

Don’t lose the wonders and mysteries
But string them like so many memories
With edges smoothed by time
Faded like a winter sky

Like bits of colored glass
These fragments from our past
Lay scattered on the sand
Softly glistening in the sun

Oh, catch them, catch them fast
These bits of colored glass
These fragments of our past
And gather them one by one

String them like so many memories
With edges smoothed by time
Yet retaining the soft translucency
Of colorful days gone by

    • Yes, I think you’re right it was after a storm, I’d love to go beachcombing on a beach like that, wouldn’t you? Thanks very much for reading and I’m very happy you enjoyed it!
